| i have no idea why im writing on this thing. im just bored, and i know no ones even going to read it, but why not? the army has been treating me well here at ft. carson, the NCO's are really cool, and being in a recon platoon really gets you pumped. i mean less than 10% are put in a recon platoon, but here i am. When i deploy to afghanistan in the spring ill be going out in only 4 man teams, and whatever we have on our backs. Regular teams roll out 14 deep. I'll be doing alot of tracking, stealth movements, and behind enemy lines work when we are playing in the big sandbox. Somthing they want us to do is if a regular infantry platoon is pinned down, they want to fly is in on helicopters and rappel to the ground to help get our guys out. I don't think we'll get the training they want to give us though by then. After Afghanistan if i dont think it's time for me to be a childrens pastor, or dont think im ready, i'll go to special forces selection. 2 years of training, 30 mile ruckmarches, log runs, all that sucky stuff. But i'll get to jump out of planes, learn another language, learn how to survive in the woods, escape if captured, and train other soldiers. And if im not dead after all that, a childrens pastor is where i want to be. It's not in my hands though. Well thats all for now. I'm taking a nap(4 hour details do that to you.) take it easy.<33 |
